At certain times of the year the ONLY road onto the island (the Strood) gets covered at high tide making it unpassable for an hour or so! These are the tide times over Easter this year according to the West Mersea Town Council: Friday 2nd April, high tide 15.15 at a height of 5.10 Saturday 3rd April, high tide 15.51 at a height of 4.90 Sunday 4th April, high tide 16.27 at a height of 4.60 Monday 5th April, high tide 17.06 at a height of 4.30 The tide will cover the Strood at these times on Friday and possibly Saturday too. Please make sure you account for this when planning your travel! |
